Welcome to Na-Klectic! My name is Natasha. I have a BA in Political Science from Morgan State University and a MA in Business from Bowie State University. I launched Na-Klectic Natural Hair Gallery in March of 2004. In 2007, we expanded to Na-Klectic Natural Hair Gallery and Spa. In September of 2011, we opened our second location in Los Angeles, CA called Na-Klectic La. We are uniting the East and West Coast in the natural hair industry. Our mission is to provide natural hair care services in a professional and relaxing environment. My goal is to educate the community about natural products, natural hair, holistic living & services, and business.
I am a natural hair stylist and loctician of ten years. I specialize in the maintenance and care of natural hair and locs. I have extensive product knowledge. I recognize products, herbs, and nutrition are key components in the maintenance of natural hair. My natural hair journey began in 1997. This was one of the best decisions in my life. This hair transformation changed my spiritual life, eating habits, increased my health awareness, and led me to ultimately change my way of life. I learned more about the connection between health and natural products to hair.
I developed oil for the hair, scalp, and body by fusing olive oil, vitamin e, and other essential oils. Clients informed me that manufactured oils did not replenish their hair. Herbalistics was created for my customers. Furthermore, I had to the opportunity to have styles featured in the Braids International and Braids Etc. I was featured as an educator and exhibited models for Ashea (a distinguished product line) for the Bronner Brothers Hair Convention in Baltimore in May, 2006 and in New Jersey. We had the opportunity to participate in the Baltimore Natural Hair Expo and DC Loves Locs Expo as vendors. I was an educator this Spring at the Baltimore Natural Hair Care Expo.
In 2007, I created Na’Klectic News. Na’Klectic News is an electronic newsletter exhibiting African-American businesses, a product of the month, a black business directory, and commentary about social issues and the African-American plight. In addition, in the past we offered a monthly seminar every third Saturday discussing such topics as Holistic Health, Real Estate/Investing, mental health, and much more.
